The Summer Buzz of Colorado
Wow! Summer is making Colorado come alive in all sorts of wonderful ways. Hiking trails that were inaccessible because of snow are ready to be explored. Quite a few tourists are out and there is definitely a rise in vehicular traffic on the roads. Also, many Colorado mountain towns are having interesting and quirky weekend festivals, with this weekend being "FibArk," a kayak-based festival in downtown Salida.
After having breakfast at the Evergreen Cafe with my buddy Chris, with the weather being so sunny and wonderful, I made a quick trip to the Collegiate Peaks Overlook west of Johnson Village. The actual photo above is not very impressive for my standards, but it will do. :)
Yesterday I drove over Cottonwood Pass and did some photography of the small ghost town of Tincup, Colorado. I also might be hiking a 14er in the next few days - perhaps Quandary Peak. See how active things get in the summer for folks like me? :)
